Op-Shop
"a very popular trading and friendship venue"
"a great source of friendship, support, help and encouragement to our community"
The Townsend Op-Shop is attached to Lower Clarence Baptist Church complex at 13 Scullin St Townsend NSW 2463.
It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
A good mix of church and community volunteers work extremely well in a family environment and enjoy sorting, cleaning, pricing and displaying the regular donations of goods received.
Money raised supports mission activities undertaken by the church in East Timor, Vietnam and in Australian universities with international students as well as the Maclean Hospital Auxiliary via an annual Fashion Parade. In times of floods or fires, gifts of money and goods have been donated to charities for local use.
The shop opened in October 2019 and after six years of trading it has become a very popular destination for many locals, as well as visitors to this region.
Townsend Op-Shop works in conjunction with the Pacific Valley Christian School and is the official preferred source for their second-hand uniforms. We also work with the school, by offering opportunity for student work experience placings.
As voluntary staff in the shop we aim for excellence, both in the standard of goods we present for sale, and also in the way we work together and try to reflect the love of God in all our dealings.
We believe our Op-Shop has become a great source of friendship, support, help and encouragement to our wider community.
