How to get saved
"Recognise-Repent-Respond to Jesus call"
Recognise what Jesus has done for you
You cannot save yourself. Jesus has already saved you when He was crucified on the cross. The Bible says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8 ESV).
Repent of your sins
God is holy and our sin separates us from Him. By confessing, you are accepting that you are a sinner. Repentance means that you will turn away from your sins. The promise of the Bible is, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 ESV).
Respond to God’s invitation
In the Bible, Jesus invites you to follow Him – “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 ESV). You can respond by praying a simple prayer, something like this: “God. Help me to repent of my sin. In faith, I believe that Jesus died and rose again. Teach me to follow You. Amen”.
Congratulations!
After praying that prayer, you are now a child of God! Wonderful! Congratulations! God has not left you alone but has filled you with His Holy Spirit to guide, help, and bless with spiritual gifts and fruit.
